Burlington School District (BSD) is cultivating caring, creative, and courageous people in its diverse and inclusive community of 3,260 students. The District was looking for graphic design services to showcase its five-year Strategic Plan, which focuses on reducing disparities and closing the achievement gap for marginalized students. They looked to Stride to help make their plan come to life.
BSD uses a process known as “radical inclusion” to ensure that the people shaping these young lives are representative of the District’s diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Here at Stride, we love projects that help bring social justice and equity to our local Vermont communities, so we set to work on a look and feel for the report that is colorful, modern, and representative of the diversity in the District.
Our cover uses sharp, geometric frames to display photos of students using clean, modern design and a bright, youthful tone. The inside pages are chock full of vibrant photos of students learning and engaging in the programs and activities offered by the District, organized by five priority areas that guide their work.
Using existing brand elements and color palette, we helped create a polished and professional-looking strategic plan for BSD that creates hope and promise for a better education for students in Burlington. We’re looking forward to watching them grow and achieve great things!
