Building Bright Futures (BBF) released its 2019 How are Vermont’s Young Children and Families? report, an annual examination of Vermont’s most vulnerable populations. Stride has had the privilege of working with BBF on the design of the last three issues of this report.
BBF is a nonprofit charitable organization focused on improving the well-being of Vermont’s young children and their families. Established by law to advise the Governor, administration and legislature in Vermont, it monitors trends in Vermont’s vulnerable populations and provides recommendations on policy improvements. BBF’s annual report outlines both the good and bad news for this population, communicating data in the areas of demographics, Vermont communities, early care, education, health and development — and with a focus on mental health this year.
Our role in working with BBF on this content-heavy report has been to develop its overall look and readability, making the data-driven content easy to understand, and also easy on the eyes. We incorporated a bold use of photography, along with custom infographics and charts, to engage the reader throughout the report.
