We were delighted once again to be an integral part of Art+Soul 2013, sponsored and hosted by our friends at Dunkiel Saunders Elliott Raubvogel & Hand. The annual event brings artists, musicians, nonprofits, and businesses together to celebrate and support the good work and creative spirit of our local community.
Each year, Art+ Soul benefits a different non-profit and features artwork inspired by that non-profit’s mission. All proceeds from the sales of the art are split between the artists and the non-profit. This year, the event benefitted ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center.
Over $8,000 was raised at this year’s event which featured almost 200 pieces of lake-inspired art from local artists — from paintings and photography to sculpture and blown glass. Taking place during the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, the event featured local band Red Hot Juba, which created the festive mood for this fun-filled — and art-filled — evening.
Besides contributing to the design and marketing needs of the event, Stride also purchased its first piece of art from Art+Soul — a large oil painting by local artist Jodi Whalen, now proudly hanging in our entryway. It’s a beautiful reminder of an enjoyable collaboration and an extraordinary event that truly benefits our community.
