We’re excited to share our recent work with Green Mountain Club (GMC), the nonprofit organization that maintains and protects Vermont’s Long Trail system and educates hikers, volunteers, and land stewards through resources and programming.
We worked with GMC to create a new website experience that would inspire hikers, serve as a hiking resource, and better serve its members. To do this, we improved navigation, streamlined content, crafted a new design, and built tools to make it easier for visitors to find the information they need. The result is an upgraded user experience that helps hikers find their way both on and off the trail.
Alongside local hiking information and education, the ‘Find a Hike’ section is an exciting new feature: an interactive tool that lets users filter by region, difficulty, distance, type, and feature to find their next hike. The site also gives equal footing to GMC’s conservation work, with pages that highlight the crews and volunteers who maintain the Long Trail, along with the land protection efforts happening behind the scenes.
