One thing to know about us Striders: we love our beautiful state. Vermont is our home, our inspiration, and our favorite place to get outside.
That’s why we were thrilled to work with the Green Mountain Club (GMC) on an overhaul of their website—to inspire hikers, provide hiking resources, and better serve the members and volunteers that maintain and protect Vermont’s treasured Long Trail system.
To do this, we improved navigation, streamlined content, crafted a bold new design, and built tools to make it easier for visitors to find the information they need. The result is an upgraded user experience that helps hikers find their way both on and off the trail.
Alongside local hiking information and education, the website includes a ‘Find a Hike’ section: an interactive tool that lets users search by region, difficulty, distance, type, and feature to find their next hike. The site also gives equal footing to GMC’s conservation work, with pages that highlight the crews and volunteers who maintain the Long Trail, as well as the land protection efforts happening behind the scenes.
