The Art Director position is a full-time hybrid or in-office role based in Burlington, VT. This is not a fully remote position.
This role leads the visual direction of client projects, overseeing concept development, design execution, and consistency across brand touchpoints. The Art Director reports to the Owner/Creative Director, and leads a team of creative staff while also working alongside them. The successful candidate must be able to translate strategic goals into compelling visual solutions for print, digital, and integrated campaigns.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Developing creative concepts and guiding design work for print and web
- Managing your own design workload and pitching in where the team needs you
- Reviewing and refining internal proofs to ensure deliverables meet Stride’s standards and deadlines
- Presenting creative ideas to clients and articulating the thinking behind them
- Providing constructive feedback to team members
- Staying current with design trends and best practices
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of graphic design experience, ideally including significant time in an agency setting, with a deep portfolio spanning multiple industries, particularly B2B
- Strong creative leadership skills, with the ability to guide projects from concept to completion
- Expertise in branding and logo design, with a deep understanding of consistent, effective brand application across channels
- Solid experience with web and digital design, plus a firm understanding of marketing and advertising principles
- Advanced skills in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; proficiency in Figma, Acrobat, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of digital and social marketing specs
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once
- Strong presentation, collaboration, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
